My wife often told me when special days like Valentine’s Day and Sweetest Day came around that I have two women to share love with: her and our daughter. This Valentine’s Day I decided to change the game plan in a good way.
I started by thinking ahead. Instead of waiting until the day of as I usually do, I seized an opportunity to get a couple of things while they were on sale and I had the money. I bought a couple of cards and a couple of stuffed animals to present them: one for my wife and one for my daughter. I wanted to enclose a letter with each, but with my current schedule and a case of writers block, I couldn’t. Let me say this, guys. Let’s not get weighed down by what we can’t do until we can’t see what we can do.
My daughter received her gift this morning, and returned the favor by clearing out the dishwasher. I really appreciated that. I hope my wife likes her gift, too. She appreciates me and all I do, and I am greatly blessed in that.
Today and any day is a great day to share some love with someone. Whether it’s cozying up to that special someone or doing a random act of kindness for a friend or neighbor, share some love. Happy Valentine’s Day.
