Recently I decided to work on my profile in ACX a little more. I finished a course on Working from Home Doing Voiceovers with Julie Eichols. Then I started auditioning on ACX and received an offer to record narration for a special audiobook. About two months later, the finished product is now available on audible.

The author and producer wanted to share some information about financial literacy with young people, and I was glad to take part in the project. Not only did I find some interesting pearls of wisdom to share, but I found that the author did a good bit of research from various sources, and I started learning about things I wished that I learned in my teens and twenties. The recording was the easy part. The editing and mastering that followed was work that demanded time and attention; but it was work that I enjoyed. Thanks again to the author, Ethan Wealthman, and our producer, Yiyuan Wang, as we worked together to bring the book to life. Who knows what other book or books I may become involved with? Only time will tell.

The project was great to work on. I hope to do other kinds of VoiceOver work as well. I may not have to have a big project like this one was, but I am open to considering smaller projects as well. Jesus Revolution looks at a dramatic movement involving a struggling pastor, a street preacher and a young convert who answers a call to ministry. The movie was based on a true story about the effectiveness of ministry that seeks to show God’s love to people that the rest of the world looks away from.

Kelsey Grammer, most well-known for the longstanding Frasier series, stars as Chuck Smith, a pastor of a small church who struggles with the idea of ministering to hippies. Jonathan Roumie, who played Jesus Christ in the series The Chosen, plays Lonnie Frisbee, a street preacher who ministers to the hippies and has a growing ministry where he follows the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Together they start the growth of Calvary Chapel, and ministry that grows in drawing several young people, including one named Greg Laurie, played by Joel Courtney.

The plot changes with the ministry growing, and Greg’s artistic talent becoming a part of the ministry that improves on the church’s tracts and then leads him into ministry with even younger people. Amidst several occurrences of turmoil, they find their way in service to God and working together to minister to the hurting by spreading the Gospel.

Jesus Revolution is now showing in theaters and is a must-see for anyone seeking family friendly entertainment.

I decided to wait until it became more official. After 13 years with my current employer and 7 years with my prior employer, I received my 20-year plaque. Looking forward to seeing what the future looks like.

I started with the Department of Veterans Affairs, working as a Patient Services Assistant at the Medical Center. I enjoyed the work and helping eligible veterans get enrolled in healthcare.

Later on I applied for a position that offered some growth. I started at grade 6 and progressed through grade 8. The first four years were tough being seasonal – even with a full-time schedule. Once there were permanent conversions available I jumped on the opportunity.

Now I can officially celebrate having served with the government for 20 years, and I still have a way to go. Who knows what the next 10 years may hold. I thank God for having brought me this far, and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

I remember that I learned about these verses making up what was called the Aaronic blessing. The Lord told Moses to speak this blessing over his brother Aaron and his sons, and commanded them to bless the children of Israel this way.

On the day that my wife and I exchanged marriage vows, my father co-officiated the ceremony with her pastor, who was also friends with him. After reciting our vows and exchanging rings, my father laid hands on our heads, and recited these verses from the King James Version verbatim. I realized that this was a beautiful expression of love from a father to his son and his new daughter-in-law, and I couldn’t imagine a more wonderful way to close out our ceremony and usher us into the life we would have as a married couple and a family.

Our marriage and family have been blessed for nearly 24 years. We’ve had good times and bad times, but in the midst of it all we have seen prayers answered, we’ve experienced healing and deliverance, and we are thankful for all the love that God has shown us. Even though my wife is no longer with me, having died over six months ago, I am thankful for the life that we shared together on the earth, and I look forward to the eternal life we will share, when Jesus Christ returns and we’re called to meet Him in the air to be with Him, and we will be able to share stories of God’s goodness and blessings in our lives between now and then.
